Guess Who Texted Me Today?

Saw the message as soon as I opened my eyes. Couldn’t help but roll them.

What was said was nothing new but I knew you’d find the humor in it too.

Guess who texted me today?

Yup, him.

Guess what he said?

Right, nothing.

We would’ve laughed and shook our heads. Said “girlll” and kept it moving.

This morning, I wanted to reach out with tea only you could truly understand.

But we’re no longer cool, largely because of you.

Today, I wanted to tell you about something that really only you could appreciate.

But you really didn’t appreciate me.

Constantly mischaracterizing. Secretly comparing. Never satisfied no matter how much was given.

So I gave up. Walked away. Made different decisions.
